The Mindset of Innovation Consultants

Growth strategy, Idea generation, Innovation delivery and Internal capability building – this is what innovation consultants do. They answer questions like ‘How might we determine our corporate purpose and embed it throughout the organisation? What’s the specific customer problem or opportunity, and how much does it matter to them? What unique capabilities or strengths does the business have that they could bring to a solution?

Very honourable indeed however, external based innovation fails when consultants work on unmanaged “dynamic” ideas that don’t have validated business models and commercial sustainability. Many of these consultants do not fully understand Cost of Goods, Retailer and Distributor Margins, Volume v Margin challenges, Logistics, Operations and Supplier Management.

And very few of those “vital” ideas are aligned to the company’s or shareholders vision.

It’s important that innovators help the company think through the implications and limitations of all the choices available. What matters is ensuring that there is a clear view of what represents authentic innovation (sustainably profitable) and how the work the innovators are doing aligns with its corporate strategy.

Why choose the Mind Tonic Collective

  • Because we are entrepreneurial leaders first and innovation consultants second that means that we understand the importance of creating a sustainable and profitable business model right from the start.
  • Because we focus on growth strategy and idea generation only. We do not get involved in innovation delivery and internal capability building this means we have no hidden agenda as to the type of work or ideas that gets implemented or by whom.
  • Because innovation needs an innovative approach to avoid constant iteration and future stagnation. The Mind Tonic Collective is this approach.

Our mission is to challenge your mindset about innovation by providing you with the tonic to inspire and lead your teams effectively.
